Civil Air Patrol cadets participate in service
Cadets of the Crow Wing Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol traveled to the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley on Sunday, May 25, to be part of the annual Memorial Day services.
They were assigned many diverse tasks, including participating with with military color guard Parade of Flags, greeting and assisting the veterans groups arriving by bus, parking cars and distributing programs.
High wind gusts threatened the stability of the main flag stands, so cadets stood watch to protect the colors during the hour-long ceremony.
Area participants included Cadet 2nd Lt. Emmett Richardson of Fifty Lakes, Cadet Airman First Class Eli O’Dell of Pine River and Cadet Airman Joshua Sechser of Jenkins.
