Cass County to host hazardous waste collection
Cass County will hold household hazardous waste one-day collections at six sites this summer. They include the following:
June 16: 1- 4 p.m., county highway garage at Walker on County State Aid Highway 12.
June 24: Noon-4 p.m., Lake Shore City Hall.
July 21: 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Slagle's Transfer Site, on Highway 7 east of Longville.
Aug. 15: 1- 3 p.m., Crooked Lake Town Hall at Outing.
Aug. 27: 3-7 p.m., May Township Transfer Site north of Pillager.
Materials that will be collected include paint and related materials, household cleaners and chemicals, old gasoline and certain other automotive products, caustic material, pesticides, aerosol cans, fluorescent bulbs and tubes and e-waste.
E-waste includes old televisions, computers, monitors, printers and related equipment.
Agricultural and other waste pesticides will be collected Aug. 7 at the county transfer station north of Pine River on Highway 371 during normal business hours.
