Benefit planned in Backus or longtime Longville resident
Family and friends will host a benefit and silent auction for the late Laurel Anne Forseth, a longtime Longville resident, starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Backus American Legion.
Proceeds will help cover medical and funeral expenses.
The silent auction will run from 4-7 p.m. Food and music will be provided. Freewill cash donations are welcome.
A benefit account has been established at the First National Bank of Walker or any of its branches. Make checks out to Mark Gardner and in the memo indicate Laurel Forseth Benefit.
The Hubbard Cass Thrivent Financial Chapter 31305 will provide matching funds. To donate an item or service to the silent auction, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Forseth was diagnosed with cancer on June 27, and she died just 23 days later on July 19.
Forseth was active in the communities of Cass County. Her passions were gardening and various community events. She was a past president of the Young at Heart (YAH) club.
For many years she enjoyed playing the Troll under the bridge at the Haunted Forest at the Pine River Library fundraiser. She also played the Elf during the holiday season at Ron's Hardware.
She had worked in retail sales in Pine River and Longville. She also was a familiar face at her life partner Mark Gardner's Country Smokehouse Store.
