Ambrose E. “Bosie” Miller, 84, of Crosslake, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Oklee, Minn., on Dec. 19, 1929. He was a barber for 50 years, four while serving in the U.S. Navy, two years as an apprentice under his father and 15 years in Hopkins, Minn. In 1971, he decided to go back up north and bought a farm near Bagley, Minn. He built a log barber shop in Bagley and drove school bus there for 29 years. In 1998, Ambrose sold his barber shop, in 2000 his cattle and in 2002, sold his farm, then moved to Manhattan Beach east of Pine River to be near family. Though he was retired, he drove school bus for Pine River-Backus for three years. He truly missed the north country, his farm and his many friends. Ambrose loved to fish, hunt and play baseball, football and basketball.
Ambrose and Marie were married for more than 60 years and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 19, 2002, with a two-day ordeal at their nephew, Bruce Larson’s, lake home on Cross Lake.
