Dr. Megan Gladen, a family medicine physician, has joined the Essentia Health St. Joseph's-Pine River Clinic.
Gladen grew up in Blackduck and always wanted to practice in a small town. She likes the variety that family medicine offers and enjoys caring for people of all ages, from babies to senior citizens.
"I like to be able to get a holistic view of my patients, which can help us best figure out what is going on," she said. "It's like putting puzzle pieces together."
Gladen earned a medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis and Duluth. She completed a residency in family medicine at United Family Medicine in St. Paul. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in family medicine.
Dr. Colin Zdenek, a podiatrist, has joined the Essentia Health St. Joseph's-Brainerd Clinic. As part of the podiatry team, Zdenek will provide treatment for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, from diagnosing and treating both children and adults with bunion deformities, sport-related injuries, flat foot reconstruction, foot and ankle trauma to orthotics management.
"I love the complexity and the variety of this specialty," he said. "There are a lot of treatment options we can provide for patients in the clinical setting that don't require surgery that can make a big difference for each patient, which is very gratifying."
Zdenek earned a degree in podiatric medicine from Des Moines University Osteopathic and Podiatric Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed residency in podiatry at the West Penn Foot and Ankle Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and an additional year of training at the Silicon Valley Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Mountain View, California. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
